Marina Bay Sands SkyPark and Casino
Marina Bay Sands opened in 2010 and quickly became the architectural symbol of modern Singapore. The three 55-floor towers topped by the boat-shaped SkyPark are visible across the central business district and have appeared in countless tourism photos. The integrated resort houses one of Asias largest casinos.
The SkyPark
The SkyPark spans the rooftops of the three towers, with the iconic infinity pool (open only to hotel guests), restaurants, and a public observation deck. The observation deck is open to non-guests for an entry fee (around 30 SGD). The view from 200 meters above central Singapore is spectacular, especially at sunset.
The casino
Around 600 gaming tables and 1,500 slot machines spread across four floors. Strict regulatory environment: Singapore enforces casino regulations more strictly than most jurisdictions. No smoking on most gaming floors. Modern surveillance and dealer protocols.
Foreigners enter free with passport. Singapore citizens and permanent residents must pay the daily entry levy (currently 150 SGD per day or 3,000 SGD annual). This intentional barrier discourages local gambling.
Hotels
Around 2,500 rooms across the three towers, all with views of the city, the Singapore Strait, or the Gardens by the Bay. The hotel is consistently among the highest-occupancy properties in Asia.
Beyond gambling
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands: a high-end shopping mall with over 270 stores. Multiple celebrity-chef restaurants including Nobu, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Adrift by David Myers. ArtScience Museum: the lotus-shaped building next to the casino, hosting major touring exhibitions.
Surrounding attractions
Gardens by the Bay (the Supertree Grove and Cloud Forest are within walking distance). The Singapore Flyer ferris wheel. The Esplanade theaters. Boat Quay and Clarke Quay nightlife are a short distance away.
Getting there
Bayfront MRT Station is connected directly to the resort. The hotel is in the central business district, walkable from many central Singapore hotels. Singapore Changi Airport is 20-30 minutes by taxi.
Practical tips
The SkyPark infinity pool is open only to hotel guests; the observation deck is the only way for non-guests to access the rooftop level. Reservations for premium dining fill up well in advance, especially weekend evenings.
